Just in time for the trade-in deal on Anew skincare, I have just received a huge order of samples.   For the current campaign, when you trade in an old skincare product (any brand, used or unopened) you receive $20 off Anew Reversalist, Ultimate, Alternative or Clinical .    I have samples of all of them so check which Anew skincare is right for me? then just ask me for a sample of the products you would like to try.

There is no limit to the number of trade-ins you can do - each will get you $20 off.  And of course, there is a 100% money back guarantee if you don't love it.

If your preference is for perfume, makeup, hair or body products, I have samples of those too.
Last year I decided to try out Avon's Magix Face Perfector.  I had never really worn a 'primer' before but thought I may as well get  a sample of it.

It is a makeup primer which goes on as a gel powder.  It gets rid of shine for hours and you can use it under makeup or alone.  It is also SPF 20 which is great in our climate (sun damage is the worst culprit for ageing!)

Once I had tried it, I couldn't wait for the full size one to arrive and now I keep a few spare so I never run out.    It is great for days when you don't want to wear makeup but want to protect your skin from incidental sun exposure and have your complexion evened out.

I wondered if it was just me thinking it was great, until I was at the hair salon and picked up InStyle Magazine and saw it was rated as at "cult beauty buy".

I was curious to see what everyday customers thought of it, so looked around for some reviews.  Here are the (US) Avon website Reviews of Magix Face Perfector.

It is currently on special in Campaign 12 and has just been released in a tinted version.

Why not try it?  I can send you a sample of the original Magix or order your shade in the tinted.  Remember - as with all Avon products - if you don't love it, you can return it!

I have just got back from a long weekend camping trip with the family.  While we were setting up I jagged a nail so when we did the sueprmarket dinner run, I decided to grab a new nail file as mine was getting on a bit anyway (and didn't have it with me).

Anyone who knows me, knows I can sniff out a bargain from 3 blocks away and boy, did I score with this one...  Now $3.99 for a 2 pack is cheap in itself, but these are no ordinary nail files/emery board thingies.  These are seriously the best nail shapers/files I have ever used (better even than glass nail files)!

Woolworths Select 2 pack of Black Silicon Carbide Nail Shapers.  One side is medium and the other fine and I swear - you only need one pass on the nail and it is done. No repeated filing (or worse, sawing back and forth like you aren't supposed to, out of frustration).

Sure, it's just a small thing but it put a smile on my face :-)

Don't forget to enter the competition - you have to follow the blog to enter - it's as simple as that - to be in the running for the bonus prize, you need to post a "link back" on my facebook fan page.

Blue eyes = blue eyeshadow, right?  Wrong!  The best shade to pick is one which complements, rather than matches your eyes.

Blue eyes look for brown, copper or violet
Green eyes love darker hues of purple
Hazel eyes can wear pinks and browns
Brown eyes try green, bronzes, gold or purples

Well here it is - I have finally (I hope!) figured out how to start a blog!

My goal is to share beauty tips and advice here - the things you can get for free, as well as showcasing Avon products.

I will also be running competitions via my blog seeing as you can't do it through Facebook and I don't want my page to be deleted!

Now, to see if I actually got this working.....;-)
